Q: What is iDocLocker?
A: iDocLocker is focused on helping single-specialty healthcare clinics and practices with outdated paper filing systems leverage the ease, efficiencies and cost benefits of a secure, online system. iDocLocker delivers specialty EMR systems via an enterprise product for hospitals and a hosted service for clinics that integrates the different medical record applications within a practice into one specific program.
IDL with Sleep Tools addresses study tracking, PAP script generation, built-in study interpretation, prescription management and study documentation, and is available through two different formats of delivery: an enterprise product for large settings and hosted subscription service for smaller ones.
IDL Templates are a stand-alone tool that enables clinics to generate customizable forms and reports while reducing or eliminating the need for dictation.
iDocLocker provides customers with immediate benefits because it is fast and easy to implement, resulting in improved workflow efficiency, and improved safety and accuracy of patient care.
Q: Who are your current customers?
A: iDocLocker's products and services are marketed to healthcare settings that range in size from large hospitals to small clinics. Within each setting, the products and services are used by clinic managers, physicians, nurses and all other clinic staff.
Since its founding in 2004, iDocLocker has been implemented in multiple healthcare practices including Swedish Hospital Medical Center, Avastra/Sleep Medicine Associates of Seattle, REM Medical, and Overlake Sleep Disorders Center, to name a few.
Q: What are the primary benefits of your service?
A: iDocLocker provides electronic viewing of scanned documents, as well as electronically created chart notes, patient vitals, prescriptions and internal email. The iDocLocker email is important because it is entirely within iDocLocker and can be added to the chart as part of the medical record. Specialty tools, such as IDL Sleep Tools, are also available and enable a specialty to avoid hand written documents and provide workflow support, such as study tracking.
Q: Why do sleep clinics need this solution?
A: The time devoted to storing and later retrieving paper charts is expensive and can have negative impacts on patient care in a sleep practice. iDocLocker eliminates the storing of paper charts and other documents generated in sleep clinics and labs by storing them in the facilities' network, or on a hosted server, so they can be readily available to any workstation within the practice, reducing both the time and cost invested in this process.
Q: How would a typical clinic make the transition from a paper filing system to an Electronic Medical Records system like iDocLocker?
A: iDocLocker is both easy to install and easy to implement with minimal user expertise in technology and minimal training required. The enterprise package involves the customer acquiring a license and then setting up their own SQL server and file server. With the SaaS model, the customer must allow for connecting to the iDocLocker server and requires little network infrastructure.
The process of building an electronic library of patients' medical charts typically starts two weeks before the adoption of iDocLocker. Practices are advised to scan patient files starting with the first two weeks of scheduled appointments that iDocLocker is implemented. The back-scanning of all patient files can take up to a few months and is organized in the system by categories and types. iDocLocker helps its clients through the implementation process with tools and training to get up and running fast.
Q: What kind of training and technical support do you offer to your customers?
A: During an enterprise install, we provide 24 hours of time for installation, integration and training. A standard support contract includes 4 hours of training per month. Customer support is also available 24/7 for customers with a current support contract.
Q: What assurances can you provide customers that files will be protected?
A: With the enterprise package, the security lies with the customer as the data is entirely within their network. The SaaS model is installed behind a secure and firewalled network.
Q: How does iDocLocker compare to other EMR systems in the marketplace?
A: While there are many EMR systems available on the market, most are designed and priced for large hospitals with substantial budgets and IT resources. iDocLocker, however, offers an EMR system with customized sleep tools that is affordable and easy to implement for smaller, independent sleep clinics as well.
Q: How is your service priced?
A: The enterprise package is sold with a single license fee and an optional support contract. The Software as a Service model is sold as an annual subscription that provides customers with the ability to pay for the service on a monthly basis.
